A pair of house finches laid eggs in our hanging geranium pot...after I tore down the nest they were building in the rafters, fearing that I would go out on the porch one morning to find smashed little finches that fell out of the nest. (My previous experience with birds building nests in rafters hasn't been good.) But obviously these parents knew a good spot when they saw it and I'm glad they didn't give up.
Mr. Finch:
I choose not to count spiders as wildlife, since I would like to just pretend they don't exist. But there are some nice insects here. Jason brought this to me when I first broke my foot:
