Small blessings

Sometimes it's the seemingly "insignificant" blessings that can mean the most. The same God who says not to worry about our life also cares about working out the mundane stuff we might be tempted to think is too unimportant for him...

Which brings me to my new best-ever Target clearance find yesterday. I've been searching for months to find some sort of rug for the kitchen to help relieve some of the pain of standing in front of a sink with a big ol' pregnant belly and aching feet. But everything was either too expensive or the wrong material or just not quite right enough to justify spending money on right now. Yesterday, though, i spied two matching cushioned kitchen mats -- with no tags on them. I asked a very helpful employee about them and she spent a good five minutes looking them up while i looked at their display of similar mats that were going for $25. The ones without the tags, though, came back as...$7.49 each. I told her i'd take them both, even the especially dirty-looking one (seriously, it must have been used) and i couldn't help telling Kaylen, who was sitting in the front of the cart, that it made me so happy to get these.

And it does. I cleaned them up easily with rubbing alcohol (thanks to reading the tags on the other mats) and doing dishes is now kind of luxurious. So. I'm posting this as a small way to thank God for his small mercies that are actually pretty big.
