1. Christmas is like 7.5 weeks away. That is soon. Fortunately, while I was buying felt at Hobby Lobby yesterday to line the girls' curtains with and keep them snuggly warm (in the event it gets cold), Jason took the girls to look at the Christmas trees aisle and discovered small, sparkly trees in purple and pink -- which of course are the best things ever, especially when you add tiny strings of LED lights! I've already been singing Christmas carols to the girls at night, but now I feel like we're finally kicking it up a notch....
(I just discovered I really like "The First Noel": "The first Noel the angel did say, was to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay." That sort of encapsulates for me why Christmas is such an exciting and glorious time.)
2. A small echeveria I rescued from the bargain plants at Lowe's for $0.75. It's a succulent so I can't kill it, right? Maybe?
3. Hot dogs and tater tots. (Not pictured. Sorry.) for lunch I dug some hot dogs out of the freezer to add to our mac n cheese and for dinner we had loaded tater tots, again from the freezer. Not health food, maybe not even totally comfort food, but hey. I'm very thankful for something that allowed me to cobble together a meal at home so I didn't have to go to the store. 4. Costumes. We made it to the grandparents' houses and that's all before the littlest one lost it and wanted to go bed (and that Reese's peanut butter cup didn't seem to impair her ability to go to sleep!). But aren't they cute?
