I've been thinking a lot about Martin Luther King, Jr. today am thankful for his courage - even at the cost of his life - and the changes to America because of it. I realize race relations are far from perfect still, but I think we're living in a different (better) country today because MLK shared his dream that "...one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal....'"
Here's a U2 song, written in MLK's honor, which is worth watching even if you wish I didn't post excessively about U2. Lots of footage from the Civil Rights Movement which is both chilling (violence and cruelty) and makes me proud of the people who stood up for justice and being created equally in God's image, regardless of race.
You can read the whole "I have a dream" speech here. (Or watch part of it.)
