A food post (with a little U2)

Today Ray came over for dinner. She made a fruit salad (she makes the best fruit salads) and I cooked a sausage-and-pepper-and-miscellaneous-vegetables-and-pasta dish with long spiral noodles that were a wedding present. I also made cookies because pumpkin shortbread cookies sounded irresistible.

Sausage and Pepper Pasta ingredients:
- Sausage
- A whole red pepper, chopped small
- Half an onion, diced
- A carrot, grated
- When almost finished cooking, add some red pepper flakes, a splash of vinegar, and then even closer to the end add a little water from the pasta. Top with cheese, of course.

It's supposed to snow a little tonight, so my neighbors told me to cut a big bouquet of their roses before the blooms died. If tonight is the last real night of fall, it's been a good one.

And now while Jason is working on a big brewing construction project in the garage (pictures to come), I'm watching Rattle & Hum, probably the best U2 film ever and also just my favorite documentary.
If you like U2 at all, watch these clips: Running to Stand Still, Pride (In the Name of Love), Where the Streets Have No Name, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (complete with gospel choir), and if you can handle a sweaty, shirtless Bono, Bad
