All i want to do these days is sleep. Having a cold at the same time as Penny for the last few days has pushed me well over the edge, sleep-wise. But for the sake of something to blog about, here are some quick updates before i put Kaylen down for a nap: [/after]

- the $ spot at Target is seriously great. I bought a little thing of modge podge, bottle of silver glitter glue, princess stickers, and more. That's enough for several weeks' worth of entertainment. 

- I am so very grateful that Kaylen loves to paint and draw, because it requires no real effort on my part and is actually pretty fun for both of us. Penny also likes to color, but it's always a toss up whether she is going to eat the art supplies or not. Fortunately, she loves to cover herself in stickers, and that's a good alternative. 

- We had another big freeze, but this time I wised up and brought in all the flowers i could (an adorable zinnia bloomed after the last freeze that wiped out 90% of the garden. Fortunately, marigolds are very hardy and all the lower parts of the bushes survived so there were lots of those). So here is the last bouquet of "summer."

- oddly, i am not too sad about the weather changing, partly because we spent the last week of September in sunny San Diego, which seemed a fitting close, and partly (mostly) because Kaylen is already so excited for Christmas. Yes, Christmas. Girl after my own heart. So that means we might be listening to songs from The Nutcracker already (excellent for princess-ballarinas to dance to) and have even decorated a few construction paper Christmas trees to save up for at least another month before hanging up.... Sorry in advance if my Christmas board on Pinterest is busy filling up in the next few weeks. ;)
