July

This month is just flying by (haha, like every month, although not necessarily every day...). We spent the Fourth of July weekend in a rented house in the country with my family and even took the girls to a rodeo, which was good for about an hour and then I started to get too stressed out by crabby, not-holding-still-for-one-second kids and we went out for an early dinner in Red Lodge, just the four of us, which turned out to be really nice.

Kaylen is talking so, so well. I love talking to her. She still has cute toddler things she says, though, like refering to a mailbox as a "mailman." Close, little girl, very close.

Penny is teething and oh-so-grouchy, but that doesn't stop her from climbing everything and still having a winning smile and starting to talk. "Kisses" and "tickle, tickle" (complete with tickling) being the main ones. And the other night my WHOLE FAMILY started tickling me and thought it was hilarious. Three against one is hardly fair, is it? But i have to admit it was cute.

I've been making more things lately, which really does boost morale. Even something as simple as spending five minutes hot-gluing magnets to the backs of animal puzzle pieces so they can be stuck on the fridge feels so much more productive than the much bigger amount of time i spend every day doing laundry and dishes and cooking. Necessary, but not nearly so fun.

I need to go start shopping online for a doll for Penny (her birthday is weeks away and she loves baby dolls now), but first, if you're an instagram user, you should check out Chatbooks. It costs $6 per 60-picture book and is really decent quality. I just got my first one in the mail today and loved looking back through the last year or so. It's a very easy way to make photo albums when you really have no time.
