Today was a good day. We were all sick and all stayed home all day. But thankfully we were't so sick we had to stay miserably in bed. At one point we were all four crowded on the loveseat downstairs, Jason playing a game on the Playstation, Kaylen watching a PBS Kids show on my phone, and me snuggling Penny. And it was one of the best times I've ever had with them. Of course, before long someone starts to fuss and needs a diaper change and then it's time to make more food - but i feel like Penelope is becoming easier in many ways already, which is a huge blessing because Kaylen was six months old before I started to enjoy things this much (not her fault, of course), and a few weeks ago I had a panic attack at the thought of three more months of this. But then it started getting much better, and i am thankful!
Kaylen really enjoyed having so much attention from both her parents today. She's been snuggly lately, i think because i've been sick and have more time to snuggle with her because i don't try to get anything else done... Anyway, I think more parenting books need to borrow from The Help - we should be telling our kids "You is kind. You is smart. You is important" more often.
