There's a pot of strawberries in the greenhouse that got flower buds this week! I didn't know such a thing was possible this far North, but i am super excited at the prospect of eating homegrown strawberries in May in Montana. Next year maybe i'll just fill the entire greenhouse with strawberry plants. :)
(Did you know strawberry plants reproduce by sending out "suckers"? You need to clip the connecting strands from the mother plant or they put too much of a drain on it. Then you can transplant the little baby plants. That's how we got these plants; the mother plant is in a pot outside, so no flowers there yet.)
