The apple branches i brought inside are now all covered in white blooms, perfect timing considering it's a snowy morning outside....
Forcing apple blossoms worked much better this time than it did last year; i think skipping the step where you keep them in a dark room for a couple weeks helped. All you really need to do is cut some branch ends with buds, use a knife to strip off most of the bark on the lower 6-8", and then put them in a big vase of very warm water and place in a moderately sunny room. The branches outside are not even "leafing" yet, so we're a good few weeks ahead here. Nothing like some early spring indoors!
