It's been a long week, with a poor, sick little girl. (But it's only the first time she's been sick in eleven months!) Nothing around the house has really gotten done that I planned on, but that's all right. I decided sometimes it's better just to nap with my little sickie so a) she sleeps better and b) I'm in a good mood when Jason comes home!
Speaking of awesome husbands, he got up with Kaylen this morning to let me sleep in, even though it was his morning for sleeping in. It turned out well, since I was three times with her between 4-5am, changing diapers and finding a pacifier and finally just rocking her to sleep. There is a reward to taking care of your kid, though; when she finally went to sleep, she was laughing. I'm glad she has good dreams -- although knowing her, she could be laughing at a dream of little kids falling down on the playground. She hasn't quite learned to sympathize with others yet...
We got to share a delicious dinner not made by me with our friends Ben & Olivia this week and we also a new loveseat, two things that I enjoyed this week.
Aaand after waiting for over an hour to see the doctor, and then waiting while the ultrasound tech was called back early from lunch, we got to see our baby girl! It's funny how knowing her gender now completely revolutionizes how I think of her. There hasn't been any pondering how I'm going to survive with a newborn and a young toddler, but there has been lots of excitement over Kaylen having a sister. Two wild and crazy girls (judging by baby # 2's being just as active already as K was) to have wonderful times together. I kind of gave in to temptation at Target and had to buy her some adorable leggings that were on clearance.
