I did something rather crazy this week and made raisins in the dehydrator - but only because we had a whole bag of grapes from our bountiful basket about to go bad. They took FOREVER to dry, only slight exaggeration. I'm glad i boiled them for a couple minutes first like the recipe said to. It also said cutting them in half would drastically reduce drying time. But i ain't that crazy.
I got close to two cups of raisins from a big bunch of grapes. Not the cheapest deal or the easiest, but hands-down the best raisins i've ever had. Also pretty much sugar-coated with melted grape sugar that leaked out and then hardened on the raisins. They're better than candy.
