A dollar will also buy a fancy pouch of fruit puree; however, i don't necessarily recommend that option, as letting Penny drink it all while shopping resulted in the worst blowout i've seen in months. Fortunately, it became necessary to change her while I was on the toilet paper aisle, and I was able to grab a pack of adult wipes to finish the job when my purse stash of wipes ran out. I'm glad we didn't get kicked out of Target for that one. (Or banned for life - the smell was pretty awful.) Some people complain about breastfeeding in public, but I imagine changing a very poopy diaper in public would REALLY push them over the edge....
Hah! I fairly recently changed a diaper on a pool-side table top at a fancy resort pool on Cape Cod (the husband had a work-related thing there). Pretty sure people were horrified... ;) What we mamas will do when it's necessary!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Thanks for sharing your own hilariously awful diaper-changing story. :) i can just imagine the looks, although maybe it made some people smile - it always surprises me how nice people can (sometimes) be about babies!
DeleteI keep forgetting to comment on your blog post about that constant second-guessing yourself about your babies' sleep and everything else, but i loved it. Even with my second baby being almost one, it seems there are constant new things to try to figure out. Is she waking up at night because she's teething or hungry or is there some other terrible unknown thing (like allergies...)?!?! I feel like sometimes it's ridiculous how much i THINK about everything, but maybe God also gave us the propensity to overthink things so we do get good at figuring out what our kiddos need. At least i would like to think so. :) Anyway, thanks for letting me know i'm not alone in doing this as a mom. And thank God, our girls are all doing well and thriving!
