Forty days of Easter

I had a realization on Mardi Gras (Tuesday), as we were all laughing at the table over a good (but easy) meal. We need to do this more often. And i know celebrating (?) Lent is popular this time of year, and this is not meant to be Lent-bashing if you choose to do that. But i've been thinking, i don't need forty days of feeling remorseful to somehow make Christ's victory over sin and death on Easter seem bigger and better. I think I actually need more like forty days of celebrating Easter! "He is not there - he is risen, just as he said he would" is much more powerful for changing my everyday life than anything else, so why not milk this holiday for all it's worth?

I'm not really sure yet HOW we'll do it, but i do think we might be dying more than one batch of eggs this year. Which is good, because i have about five different methods to try from my pinterest Easter board.....

Also, maybe time to get some new tunes. "Vain the stone, the watch, the seal, a-a-a-lleluia."
