Happy Valentine's Day!

My mom is an amazing woman (this becomes more clear the longer i am a mom), and she always, always made Valentine's Day special, even when I was single and living in my own house and had a terrible ear infection (she brought over beef wellington!). So naturally i've always liked it as a holiday, too. But it has definitely gotten better since having Jason around. He likes giving surprises, so having a huge box of roses show up is the kind of thing that happens around here. He cleverly discovered that buying roses in bulk is the same price as buying an arrangement of them, so why not let me do the arranging? And the rose grower decided to throw in extra at no charge, so things are very rosy around here. It's been a day of very pleasant surprises, even though one small child of mine spent most of the afternoon not wanting to nap (Penelope! Sleep, kid).
