Garden update: seedlings & going to seed

Other than the fact that some demented creature is eating my tomatillo leaves and there is a layer of algae-looking stuff over most of the dirt (in the shady part of the yard, too), things are going very well. We have more purple heirloom peas than we want, but it makes me happy that now every time Kaylen goes into the greenhouse, she pulls a pod off the vine and starts chomping on it.

Of seedlings, i'm most excited about the tomatillos (if they don't get entirely eaten), yellow tomatoes, sage and basil (now thriving), and fennel. The fennel i had low expectations for, but it's looking beautiful.

And some of the lettuce i'm letting go to seed. It's kind of beautiful in its own way, and though i wasn't going to mess with collecting seeds this year, what the heck - we'll see what happens here!
