Gobble, gobble

Well, we finished up Thanksgiving weekend by cooking up two nice, plump turkeys on Sunday. One in the crockpot (we can just manage to smash an under-ten-pound bird in there) and one in the oven. And now we've got a whole lot of pre-cooked meat in the freezer, which makes me happy.

For the oven bird, which was your typical 16-pounder, we put garlic, celery, sage, pepper, and a bit of orange peel in the middle in addition to the rub we put on the outside. It made it smell pretty amazing, although i have yet to taste it....
