Feeding woes

Actually, things are going better now, but feeding Kaylen has not been easy. At about 3am on the day after Easter I realized she wasn't getting enough to eat, which is a pretty horrible feeling. We started giving her formula for a few days till her weight was back up to a decent level and then started meeting with lactation consultants at the hospital. Those ladies are really great, by the way. I would have gone crazy trying to figure out what to do on my own. But long story short, even though Kaylen can latch on fine, I haven't been producing enough milk yet for her. I'm on meds to help with that (yay for there being drugs for almost everything!) and borrowing a hospital-grade pump and still supplementing with formula, which is quite a bit of work but at the same time so much better than things were! I'm really thankful this system is working till I can (i hope) take care of her on my own.

And she's got the beginnings of a double chin, so I think she's quite healthy...
