Our friend Craig came over to survive the hurricane with us. It was fun having another person around while we played board games and watched Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief. Rough conditions to wait out this storm in. The lights flickered and dimmed occasionally and flashed off twice for just a second. We kept thinking we were going to have to bust out the candles, but the worst that happened was that we lost internet service in the early evening. It was anticlimactic after all the anxiety we felt earlier in the week about whether we should evacuate or not; but at the same time, I'm really thankful it wasn't worse.
A lot of people in other areas of Hampton Roads got much more damage, but here's all we saw this morning:
