I haven't only been having dark thoughts! In fact, I had hardly any when Jason and I left all three kids with my amazing parents and took off on a roadtrip to Thermopolis this past weekend. The day before we left was the worst i'd had in a long time, when almost every moment is torment, but getting to rest and relax completely for a few days has made a world of difference. Although it is a bit hard to adjust back to real-life things like doing dishes and changing diapers and having three kids clamor at the same time.
Anyway, i highly recommend Thermopolis as a quick getaway spot. Hotels are affordable (a king-size suite for $135?!), there's a variety of restaurants that are all decent, the hot springs pools are fun (we went to Hellie's TePee's or somehing like that), and we even found a few garage sales. Good times. And it was really good to just be together, me and Jason. We ARE more than our kids' parents.
Oh, the dinosaur museum was really good, too.
