The best cabbage

I've always liked cabbage okay, but it's never been my favorite. But it's cheap, and so i bought some. And then Brooke told me how to cook it so that cabbage is my new favorite thing: Slice your cabbage into thinnish "steaks," put them on a cookie sheet, drizzle oil on each side, sprinkle on salt and a generous helping of pepper, and cook at 450 for at least 10 minutes. When it's nice and caramelized on the edges, it's done. And it is delicious.

Jason also made ciabatta bread, so dinner was pretty great. Perfect crunchy on the outside, soft and airy inside. I would have been fine with just bread and cabbage for dinner, but my belly might not thank me later. Roasted carrots and cube steak pressure-cooked in a packet of minty moroccan sauce was a nice accompaniment. (I don't usually buy sauce packs, but I'm glad I bought this one made by Saffron Road. I'm beginning to believe in having stuff like that on hand!)

Now how soon can I reasonably go get some more bread??
