I finally got around to thinning out the fennel the other day and rather than toss one of the uprooted plants i stuck it in a vase of water. We've been nibbling off it a little every day. Yesterday i discovered fennel fronds with watermelon is completely delicious. It adds a unique flavor to the sweetness. (Kaylen liked it, too. But she'll also munch on plain fennel fronds.) Today i put some sprigs of it in my fake cocktail (seltzer water, ice cubes made of coconut water, and fennel). Useful stuff, that fennel.
