Thanksters

Sometimes i think it's good to look back and store up all the good memories you can and then pull them out and remember and be thankful for them on harder days. It had been kind of a long stretch between those days lately for me, but this has been a good weekend. Yesterday Jason and i spent some time in the greenhouse getting the dirt ready, and it felt good to be working outside with him. Then all three of us snuggled up in bed for a long nap. Although of course it was not *totally* idyllic, as Kaylen gave me a bloody nose. Gotta watch out for those little fingers and their sudden movements! :-P

Anyway, this coincides with a book i'm re-reading about raising small children. ("Loving the Little Years.") The author tells how long car trips can turn into a lot of complaining, so she teaches her kids to be "thanksters" and not "cranksters." That's as a good a lesson for a 30-year-old to learn as a 4-year-old....
