Our hops vines died as soon as we transplanted them - maybe it was too hot the week Jason put them in the ground? But we've been watering them anyway (since they're rhizomes rather than seed plants, I thought there was some hope of regrowth). And now there's a tiny Fuggles, Nugget, and teeny tiny Willamette.
Also other exciting green things, like pumpkin (the one crop I felt sure of), peas, radishes (not pictured), blueberries, and strawberries. Even if most of it fails, I'll still be pretty happy with a few pumpkins and a strawberry or two. Sometimes it seems like growing only has about a 20% success rate - since I'm not exactly a green thumb - but that 20% is deeply satisfying.
