My big backyard

I took Kaylen outside in the baby carrier, hoping to alleviate some of her fussiness. Poor tyke has been having a rough week. She's now snoozing, fist in her mouth. (that's a new discovery.)

Anyway, I never just hang out walking around and looking at things but not doing anything. But after checking out the garden and telling Kaylen all about it (probably the reason she finally fell asleep), I used a leaf-identifier app to narrow down possible species for the tree in the alley - it's a birch or possibly fruit tree - and just saw three different species of birds gathered together watching as a robin ate a worm. One was a little red-headed one, maybe a finch like the ones that built a nest on our balcony last year?

Oh yeah. And there are apples ripening.
